Star Wars in Pictures: Pt 1
Whenever we get major Star Wars news like a new title or trailer it tends to send the fandom into an uproarious state of bliss and instant conjecture. Over the past few years I’ve developed a distinct method of filtering new information and articulating my thoughts by way of words and images. These “Katified” analyses are my fun way of making sense of the craziness that is Star Wars. It was interesting to see the progression these have taken since the first one, both in terms of creativity and in newfound knowledge about the movies. I thought it’d be fun to go through all the ones I’ve done so far.
My most recent analysis of the teaser for The Last Jedi (pictured below) is by far the most colorful one and the most congested of the bunch!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens
If you go back to December of 2014 you’ll see the very first one I did. This is a continuation to some recorded audio I had done for that brief “Teaser Teaser” we got in November of 2014. A much simpler time. So weird to think of a time when we didn’t even know BB-8’s name! SO many ideas, so many questions. And still so many answers we need!
Next up were my thoughts and reactions to the teaser we got at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in April of 2015. This teaser will always have special meaning to me because of those circumstances. As you can see, my style improved greatly and it’s much more visually interesting to look at.
In October of 2015 we FINALLY had gotten our full official trailer and of course I had thoughts! Star Wars: The Force Awakens was really starting to feel real at this point and waiting those few months were some of the most excruciatingly wonderful times of my life!
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
With TFA done and etched forever in our hearts we readied ourselves for another new Star Wars movie! In April of 2016 we got our teaser for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This was exciting because of it’s status of being the first of so many things. It’s interesting that A LOT of the things I guessed about on this one came true!
Then we got a more complete look at Rogue One during the trailer that aired in October of 2016. This trailer held a more solemn tone that really prepared us for the tragedy that encompassed Rogue One. Again, I’m quite happy with the “things I’d like to see” list on this one!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
After recovering from the shock and awesomeness that was Rogue One we got a surprise announcement in January of 2017. Star Wars: Episode 8 would be called “The Last Jedi”! Of course that gave us many questions like who the last Jedi was and whether or not it was plural.
Star Wars has always been amazing in its ability to inspire others to create, speculate and imagine greater. As long as there’s new Star Wars news I’ll keep making these and I’m even considering doing a massive Star Wars marathon and drawing my way through it, so definitely stay tuned!
